Rodica Ieta, 48, of Oswego Town, passed away October 21, 2015 at home.

Born in Timisoara, Romania, she was the daughter of Gheorghe and Viorica Borsa.

Rodica was working in the Department of English at SUNY Oswego. She was a Joyce scholar with a PhD in English Literature from The University of Western Ontario (Canada). She was a top undergraduate in English and Philosophy at University of Timisoara, Romania.

She had a keen interest in education reform and worked hard to set up a Charter School in Oswego before having brain cancer (glioblastoma). Rodica was a brilliant and lovely person, always ready to help and go beyond expectations.

A mother, wife, scholar, Rodica was always pleasantly energetic and revitalizing. She bravely and optimistically fought her disease to the last moment. May she rest in peace.
