Looking to start a career as a first responder?

Oswego County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) announced today that it is offering an original and refresher certified first responder (CFR) course this spring.

“The CFR course is a basic introduction to emergency medical services,” said Oswego County EMS Director Nathaniel Degear. “Whether you’re taking the course for the first time or want to expand your skills and renew your credentials, this class is a great opportunity for anyone interested in the emergency services field to get their foot in the door.”

The course will run from April 20 through June 6 at McFee Ambulance, 52 Watson Ave., Mexico. Classes meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. and some Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Those participating in the refresher course can take a refresher challenge exam on April 18 at 9 a.m.

Registration for the course must be completed by Monday, April 13. To sign up, visit this direct registration form.
