Simeon Dudley Rombough Sr., 68, passed away unexpectedly on March 8, 2026.
Born on May 11, 1957, he was the eldest of seven children of the late Dudley and Mary Rombough.
Simeon graduated from Port Leyden High School and attended Herkimer County Community College for one year. On February 5, 1977, he married Estelle Sarafin. Soon after, he proudly served his country in the United States Army for 11 years, working in communications and spending several years stationed in Germany.
Although his marriage ended after 24 years, he gained his three eldest children and many grandchildren. Simeon was the father of four children, Simeon Rombough Jr., Christopher Rombough, Heather Rombough (Anelli), and Marissa McLymond. Simeon was extremely close to his youngest child, Marissa, who held a special place in his heart as she was his "partner in crime". He was a proud grandfather to many grandchildren who lovingly called him "Pops", as well as a great grandson who lovingly called him "Papa". Although his eldest son's marriage ended, he continued to cultivate a strong bond with his ex-daughter in law and her children she adopted with her new partner. Even though they shared no blood or legal bond he was still their "Pops" just like their siblings who were product of the marriage.
Throughout his life, Simeon worked as a mechanic at various shops, a trade that suited his love for working with his hands and fixing just about anything. In his free time, he enjoyed motorcycles, NASCAR, anything to do with dragons, board games, and spending time with his family.
Simeon will be remembered for his dedication to his family no matter how far apart they drifted, his sense of humor, and the love he shared with those around him.
