Write a commentStewart Rappleye, 96, of Oswego passed away Tuesday evening at Seneca Hill Manor.
He was born in Scriba and was the son of the late Walker and Marian Fradenburg Rappleye. Mr. Rappleye was the husband of Gladys Snyder Metcalf Rappleye. He was a life member of the United Baptist Church of Scriba and an Honorary Deacon at the church, where he leaves a legacy of faithful service. He was a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society for several years. Mr. Rappleye retired from Nestles Chocolate Works in 1983.
His first wife Eunice (Hammond) Rappleye died in 1980.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Rappleye is survived by two daughters Jane (William) Cristman of Syracuse, Elaine (John) Woods of Portland, Oregon, one son James (Bernice) Rappleye of Scriba, three grandchildren Lynn Comp, Brian Rappleye, Jeff Cristman, four great grandchildren, Christopher Comp, Jaysen Comp, Cecelia Rappleye, Aaron Cristman and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday 4:00PM at the United Baptist Church of Scriba.
Calling hours Sunday 2-4:00PM at the church prior to the service.
Burial will be 9:00AM Monday in North Scriba Cemetery.
