One of the great joys of community theater, besides the satisfaction it gives to oneself, is watching a young person's enthusiasm.

In the Oswego Players current production, "The Best Man," the part of Sheldon Marcus is played by a very special young person, Norman Berlin, III. "Little Normie" came into the group as a youngster with his parents, Sonia and Norman, Jr. His enthusiasm for the stage has never waned.
Berlin's interest was piqued by roles in the Oswego Children's Theater, and he has thrown himself into this mainly adult group heart and soul. Since joining, this bundle of energy has been in nearly every production the Players have done. He has played old men, young men, middle-aged men and does extremely well in character roles such as the villain in last summer's 75th anniversary skit, "The Valiant Villain." If a role goes uncast or someone has to drop out, Berlin is more than happy to step in. He acts with a verve and joyfulness that is a delight to behold. Presently he is doing very well as a student at SUNY Oswego, and his goal is at some point to be president of the Oswego Players. Audiences love him!
Other members of the "Best Man" cast are Sara Sheffield, Jacob Luria, Kyle Walton, Amy Price, Nick Pike, Beverly Murtha, Kevina Schleicher, Spring Pigeon, Michael Moss, Shane Craig and Tammy Wilkinson.
Gore Vidal's political drama will be shown at 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, April 12-13 and 19-20 and at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 21.
Tickets are $10/adults, $8/seniors and $7/students. Reservations are recommended, and can be made at the Players' Box Office at 315-343-5138.
Support has been generously provided by Pathfinder Bank toward the Oswego Players' 75thseason productions.
