The Tarandi Foundation's 2025 Shah Scholars will receive $17,000 in scholarship support. Awardees include 14 graduating seniors from six area high schools.
The Shah Family has announced its 2025 Shah Scholars. This is the fourth year the family has worked directly with high schools in APW, Cato-Meridian, Hannibal, Mexico, and Sandy Creek. The Tarandi Foundation, working in conjunction with the Fulton Rotary Club, also awards scholarships to two students at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton, NY.
The Dr. Manjula Ravindra Shah Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has excelled in academics, has participated in either visual or performing arts, and will be pursuing a 4-year college degree following graduation.
The Brig. Gen Dr. Ravindra Fulchand Shah Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who has excelled in academics, demonstrated leadership potential, and will attend vocational school following graduation.
In any given year, a scholarship recipient may also be chosen to receive an increased scholarship award. This year, Zoey Turaj, a senior from Hannibal High School, was awarded a $4,000 scholarship.
The scholarships honor the memory of Brig. Gen Dr. Ravindra Fulchand Shah and his wife, Dr. Manjula R. Shah, who were local community physicians. The scholarships commemorate the Shah family’s commitment to higher education and interest in supporting academic excellence.
“In the past six months, we have seen an unprecedented assault on higher education and a significant reduction in student funding by the current administration,” Neelesh Shah said. “We hope that these scholarships help to lessen the impact of these changes and show that many of us still believe in the value of a college education.”
Since 2021, 60 students have received over $70,000 in scholarship support from the Tarandi Foundation.
