Born in Bundyville, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Greta (Dodge) Knight.
Traver was a WWII Army Veteran having served in Northern France and Germany from 1943-1946.
He was retired from General Electric and as a School Teacher. He enjoyed traveling and telling stories.
Surviving are his wife Barbara (Denton) Knight; four grandchildren, Michelle Nearbin; Robyn Hammer; Samantha Pogue and Robert Myhill; five great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Kevin (Carol) Myhill; four nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter Judith Myhill (1991) and a sister Elaine Doty (2008).
Calling hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St Oswego.
Graveside Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Oswego Town Rural Cemetery with Pastor Bruce Schrader officiating.
