Volunteers are the essence of United Way and play a major role in the success of United Way’s initiatives and annual campaign. As part of their Annual Meeting and Leadership Luncheon held on March 22 at noon, United Way of Greater Oswego Co. honored exceptional volunteers who serve Oswego County with their work and commitment to create lasting impact in our community.
“Oswego county is rich with volunteerism and neighbors willing to support and help one another, which goes hand in hand with United Way’s mission” said Brandi Weaver, resource development director at UWGOC. “ United Way’s mantra is to – Live United-, and we have so many amazing community members getting involved and doing their part to do just that here in Oswego County”
“The annual meeting and leadership luncheon allows us to not only share with our partners and community the progress of past years campaign, the impact throughout the community; but to also pay tribute to our volunteers, supporters, and community leaders that helped us to work towards and reach our goals – all which we consider Local Heroes and community champions. Special guests include local government officials, United Way partner agencies, companies that have collaborated throughout the year with United Way and our leadership givers; we are proud of our community of volunteers and local heroes and were happy to be able to recognize and honor a few this year at our annual luncheon” added Weaver.
In addition to honoring United Way volunteers and community partners, local businesses whose efforts have made significant impacts on Oswego County will also be recognized. The outstanding businesses and people that received awards were:
