The 52nd annual Novelis Supermodified 'Kick-Off' is set to take the green flag this Saturday, May 11, at Oswego Speedway presented by Mitchell's Speedway Press and CJ Ferlito Aggregates.
A healthy field of Novelis Supermodifieds are expected to be in attendance for the 75-lap main event including championship hopefuls Otto Sitterly, Pat Lavery, Joe Gosek, Dave Gruel, Dan Connors Jr., and Michael Barnes.
Expected to join the regular cast of Oswego characters is Nicotra Racing driver and Indianapolis 500 veteran Davey Hamilton. Hamilton will be behind the wheel of the No. 6 machine on Saturday night, the same racecar that he drove to a runner-up finish in last season's Novelis Supermodified 'Kick-Off.'
The Pathfinder Bank SBS series took the green flag last Saturday night with AJ Bernys driving to his second career feature win. Bernys held off Rob Pullen, Russ Brown, Jon Tesoriero, and Andrew Schartner for the victory.
Looking at the championship standings, Bernys holds a one point edge over Pullen on the 'Road to the Championship' with Brown, Tesoriero, and Schartner all close behind.
A total of seven Butler Disposal Services SBS Rookies took the green flag on May 4 with Jeremy Pitcher leading the charge in the TNT Motorsports No. 14. Pitcher came home with a 10th place finish in his first official SBS start. Dan Abt and Zach Amo trail Pitcher in the battle for Rookie of the Year honors followed by Anthony Losurdo, Scott Shafer, Greg O'Connor and Nate Noto.
