Every individual, adult and child, who attends the Fulton Art Association’s shows are allowed to vote for their favorite piece from all of the entries in the show.
The winner of that public vote is awarded the Viewers’ Choice Award. Often the public does not agree with the judges’ choices, so this gives them a chance to choose their favorite entry in the show.
At the Fulton Art Association’s 17th annual High School Art and Photography show and competition held May 9, 2026, at the Art Scene, 9th grader Cal Altman from Phoenix won the public’s vote for Viewers’ Choice Award with his Drawing B/C entry entitled The Avatar Concept. Cal received a ribbon and $50 award, comparable to the judge’s selection for Best of Show.
Second place was Seth Miner (10th grade – Fulton) for “Portrait 4” in Drawing A medium.
Third place in the public vote was a four-way tie between Reagen Southworth (12th grade – Phoenix) for an acrylic painting, “A Sense of Seascapes,” Wyatt Scruton (11th grade – Phoenix) for a photo entitled “In the Rafters,” Julie Delano (11th grade – Fulton) for her “Portrait 3” in Drawing A, and Penelope Taylor (12th grade – Fulton) for “Tenacious D Poster” in Printmaking.
