
The Oswego State men's swimming and diving team defeated Wells College 95-65 in the home-opener on Saturday afternoon at Laker Pool. With the win, Oswego improves to 1-2 on the young season.
The Lakers started off well, capturing the 200-yard medley relay for 16 points behind Austin Nau, Jacob Mullet, Sanjay Raman and Dylan Tiefenthaler.
Oswego State picked up another 16 points when three Lakers took the top three spots in the 200-yard freestyle. The junior, Nau, led the Lakers with a first place finish in the event and a final time of 1:54:33. Teammates Alex Kemper and Ross Gardner would finish behind Nau for second and third place finishes.
Raman led Oswego in the 100-yard butterfly with a first-place finish and a time of 57.90. Raman also placed third in the 1,000-yard freestyle event, earning Oswego another three points.
The men's swimming and diving team will be back in the water against Clarkson University for a 1 p.m. meet on Saturday.
