Minnick and DalCais named Oswego State Athletes of the Week

     Andrew Minnick (Latham, N.Y.), a junior on the swimming and diving team, and Brittany DalCais (Hewitt, N.J.), a sophomore on the women's indoor track and field team, have been named the Oswego State Athletes of the Week for the week ending Jan. 27.      Minnick was part of a 200-freestyle relay team which out-touched Cortland Tuesday to win the race by less than a second. On Saturday, Jan. 26, Minnick had a stellar meet against Geneseo, capturing three first-place finishes for the Lakers. He began the day with an impressive victory in the 200 freestyle, posting a time of 1:49.94. He added to his win total later in the meet with victories in the 500 freestyle (5:05.99) as well as the 200 IM (2:07.97).
     DalCais bettered her school record in the pole vault by two inches at the Hamilton Invitational to win the event with an ECAC-qualifying height of 11 feet, 7 3/4 inches (3.55m). She cleared the record height on her first attempt and beat her closest opponent by nearly three feet, while also ousting five of the male competitors.
