On Saturday, October 17th, community members are invited to gather on the Bridge Street Bridge at 10 a.m. for the next No Kings Rally, with a theme that reaches beyond the rally itself: Get Out the Vote!
This year’s November 3 election comes amid widespread concerns about election interference and the integrity of our democratic process.
That is why this No Kings Rally is focused on voting. We invite everyone in the community to join us on the bridge, stand with fellow residents in support of civic participation, and encourage friends, family members, and neighbors to make a plan to vote for the candidates of their choice.
Voting early is one way to make sure your voice is heard without waiting until Election Day. Fortunately, Oswego County residents have several ways to cast their ballots before November 3.
If you qualify for an absentee ballot because you expect to be away on Election Day, or for another eligible reason, you can visit the Oswego County Board of Elections at 74 Bunner St. in Oswego. You can request a ballot, complete the necessary paperwork, and ask staff about the process for marking and returning your ballot in person.
Prefer to vote by mail? You can request an absentee ballot or an early mail ballot, depending on your circumstances and preference. For the November 3 election, mailed or online ballot applications must be received by the Board of Elections by October 24. If you plan to vote by mail, allow plenty of time for your ballot to be returned. Your completed ballot must be postmarked no later than Election Day and received by the Board of Elections by November 10.
Another option is in-person early voting, which begins October 24 and continues through November 1. Oswego County residents can vote at either of the county’s designated early voting locations: the Barclay Courthouse in Pulaski or the Board of Elections at 74 Bunner St. in Oswego. Check the county’s published schedule for specific days and hours.
With these options available, there is no need to leave voting until the last minute. Take a few moments now to confirm your registration, review your voting options, and decide when and how you will cast your ballot.
Our message is simple: Your vote is your voice. Use it.
Join us on the Bridge Street Bridge at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 17th. Bring a friend, invite a neighbor, and help spread the word. Then follow through by casting your ballot on or before November 3.
We’ll see you on the bridge!
Indivisible Oswego County, Paul McKinney
