     "FitzGibbons Insurance Athletes of the Month" for April received their $25 gift certificates for The Press Box. Involved in the presentation were Alison Scanlon of The Press Box, lacrosse player Garrett Dunsmoor, softball player Vicki Race and John FitzGibbons.

     The Buccaneer Booster Club is also a sponsor of this monthly award to recognize outstanding Oswego High School student athletes.

     You have heard of Seven Lords a Leaping from the popular Christmas song, "Partridge in a Pear Tree?" One of the Lord's servants, the Rev. Greg Kreinheder, was found leaping at Trinity Catholic School, Wednesday, May 22.

   The fight against child abuse has been undertaken throughout the Oswego City School District.
     Currently, a fundraiser to benefit the Child Advocacy Center and Prevent Child Abuse NY is being conducted at every school.
     Students and staff can purchase pinwheels to created a pinwheel garden to serve as a symbol for child abuse prevention. The project will end May 23.

     The Oswego Middle School (OMS) National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) conducted its annual induction ceremony recently as 30 students signed the membership book and took the oath.

     Oswego High School was well-represented at the "Electrathon Challenge" at Watkins Glen International Speedway.

     Traditionally, the first Sunday afternoon in May means that it is time for the Oswego High School National Honor Society Owl's Head Chapter induction ceremony.

     The Oswego High School boys' varsity lacrosse team instituted a program a few years ago which was once again recently celebrated.

     Oswego Head Start Pre-K recently held a Nursery Rhyme Literacy Night.

     Oswego Middle School Principal Mary Beth Fierro has announced the third quarter honor roll.
