Members of the Oswego High School Interact Club recently traveled to the Oswego Hospital to donate 60 blankets for babies.

The Oswego City School District Board of Education recognized retiring Oswego High School Social Studies teacher Patricia Runeari during the regular board meeting on Nov. 13. Runeari has served the education needs of students in the Oswego City School District for more than 27 years. Among those congratulating the newest district retiree were board president John Dunsmoor; board member and former teaching colleague Tom DeCastro; and superintendent of schools Bill Crist.

More than 200 youths from Oswego County school districts convened at SUNY Oswego for the eighth annual Youth Employment Summit Nov. 7 to learn about the many career choices that await them.

Oswego Middle School seventh grader Emily Bradshaw continues on "Emily's Mission" to address the needs of homeless children and teenagers in the Oswego area. She has been seeking donations to aid in this need. Donations have been generous from individuals, businesses and organizations. Fitzgibbons Insurance owner John Fitzgibbons (right) joins in a celebration of success by Oswego High School student-athletes. Named "Fitzgibbons Insurance Athletes of the Month" for September were Lady Buc senior soccer center-midfielder Liz Michaud and junior football running back-defensive back Alex Makin. They were joined by Oswego Athletic Director Mike Conners and Buc Booster President Judy Queale-Dunsmoor.
Each student-athlete received a $25 gift certificate to the Office Restaurant.
Novelis and Fitzhugh Park Elementary School have become partners this year as the "Novelis Neighbor Project" is in full swing.
The Oswego High School Lady Bucs varsity volleyball team will continue its season as the Class A Section III Champion has advanced to state regional action.
