United Way 2015 Golf Tournament A Big Success

United Way 2015 Golf Tournament A Big Success

A field of 42 teams took to the links for a day of golf and fun in the 20th Annual United Way Golf Tournament, held recently at the Oswego Country Club.

This year’s event featured two complete tournaments: a morning flight and an afternoon flight. In the morning flight, The Rombough Electric team carded an impressive 56 to capture first place.

Top individual performers in the morning flight were:

- Closest to the pin on hole #4 Jeff Labouef and Theresa Himes
- Closest to the pin on Hole #12 Don Gioia
- Longest Drive: Al Squitieri and Mary Reardon
- Putting Contest: Buffers Lawncare

In the afternoon flight, teams representing Enwright Roofing and Clubhouse Tavern each shot a 60 to finish in a tie for first place.

Top individual performers in the afternoon flight were:

- Closest to the pin on hole #4 Lyle Baxter and Felicia Avery
- Closest to the pin on Hole #12 Lynn Morris
- Longest Drive: Scott Zaryski and Tess Gordon
- Putting contest: Entergy

“It was a great day for golf,” said United Way Resource Development Director Ali McGrath. “Everyone had a great time and the money raised will do much to help the many human service programs that United Way helps to fund that work to end hunger, help children and youth succeed and improve the overall health and well-being of our communities. I extend a sincere thank you to our major sponsors; National Grid, Entergy, Exelon Generation, Novelis, and Planned Results. Our food and beverage sponsors; Beacon Hotel, Eagle Beverage and David Mirabito / MetLife, and our Hole-One-Contest sponsor Burritt Motors. I also appreciate the hard work and dedication of the golf committee and our many volunteers who gave of their time and talents to help make our 20th Annual Golf Tournament enjoyable for everyone involved. Their efforts played a major role in the success of our golf tournament.”
