The Oswego State men's soccer team fell short Saturday, Sept. 21 losing to Wells College 3-1 in an early morning contest.
Oswego's Jim Manton scored his first goal of the season at 36:20 off a corner kick from Mike Naab. The goal knotted the game at 1-1 and it would stay that way through to halftime.
Wells pulled away in the second half with two goals despite being out-shot by more than a 2-to-1 margin.
The Lakers outshot the express 24-9 in the game but had trouble converting the opportunities. Wells' goalie stopped 12 shots in net to secure the win for the Express. with 14 shots coming in the first and 10 in the second.
Oswego will play again on at 4 p.m., Monday, Sept. 23, when it travels to Morrisville State. That will be the rescheduled game from earlier in the year when the contest as called due to lightning after one half of play. To follow the action use LIVE STATS or listen to GAME AUDIO.
