The Oswego State women`s lacrosse team earned a 15-10 victory over St. Joseph's-LI of the Skyline Conference. Oswego`s win pushes its record to 4-1 and equals their best start since 2005 while the Eagles drop to 4-2.
Leading the Lakers on offense were Esther Gabriel and Emily Lange who had four goals apiece. Mackenzie Kjerstad added three goals and Erannan Shattuck had two goals and two assists. Brittany Koelmel also had three assists.
While up 6-5 at the half, Oswego got out-shot 15-8 and picked up eleven less ground balls (21-10). Those numbers changed significantly in the second half as Oswego had edges in shots (16-8) and ground balls (11-10).
In goal, Nikki Greco stopped seven shots to anchor the defense and pick up the win.
The Lakers return to action at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26 in their home-opener against SUNY Canton.
