The Oswego State wrestling team finished with 14 team points on its way to a tie for 16th place along with Plymouth State at the NCAA Northeast Regionals held at Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Saturday and Sunday.
Abubakarr Sow and Scott Bova each won multiple bouts in their respective weight classes. At 149, Sow downed Christop Kelly by major decision 15-4 before eliminating Danny Downes of Roger Williams University by an 11-6 decision.
The 184-pound Bova won two matches similarly, taking each by fall, the first in 3:56 and the final one second faster at 3:55.
Three other Lakers took a bout over the weekend. Quammaine Thomas defeated Dan Evangelakos 6-3 in the 133 weight class. Maxx Stratton earned a major decision 10-1 at 157 while David Hall garnered a 6-3 decision at 165 over a wrestler from Rhode Island College.
