     The Oswego County Emergency Management Office announces that the system of emergency notification sirens surrounding the three nuclear power plants at Nine Mile Point will be tested during the week of Feb. 4-8.

     The Oswego County Department of Social Services (DSS) will sponsor an informational meeting from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 14, at the DSS offices, 806 W. Broadway, Fulton, for people who are interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents.

     Education First Foundation (EFF) is currently seeking host families throughout Oswego County for foreign exchange students looking to spend either a semester or a school year in a U.S. high school.

     The Oswego YMCA will hold a five-week Lifeguard Certification Course beginning Tuesday, Jan. 29.

     Lakeside Artisans, located at 191 W. First St., in downtown Oswego, is offering several classes for the month of February.

Postive about Governor's Cuomo's budget; positive about Oswego

     Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 22, 2013), Governor Andrew Cuomo released his Executive Budget for the State of New York's Fiscal Year – 2013.

     The program of events have been finalized, the "Hot Spots" are in place and the snow has finally arrived for the eighth annual Warm Up Oswego Festival, taking place Feb. 1-2, 2013.

     The menu is set and the beer's chilling in preparation for the Child Advocacy Center's (CAC) second annual Chicken Wing and Micro-Brew Fest. The event will take place druing Warm Up Oswego from 6-10 p.m., Friday, Feb. 1, at the Lake Ontario Event & Conference Center, East First Street, in Oswego adjacent to the Best Western Hotel.

     The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) of Oswego County invites you to join them for a great time for a great cause. As part of the Annual Warm Up Oswego celebration, the CAC will hold its 3rd Annual CAC Chicken Wing and Micro-Brew Fest on Friday, February 7, at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, East First Street in Oswego, adjacent to the Best Western, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
