Flower Power: Deck out Your Porch with Flowers that Make a Difference

Write a comment

Fulton Noon Rotarians are out collecting orders for their annual hanging basket flower fundraiser.

Each year, the club works with Oliver Paine Greenhouses in Granby to provide beautiful hanging baskets just in time for spring. Orders and payment are due to Rotarians by May 11th, with pickup at or shortly after noon on May 21st at the Fulton Polish Home.

Flowers available for this year’s fundraiser include multiple shades of the ever-popular Superbells, Supertunias, New Guinea Impatiens, Calliope Geraniums, and Fuchsia, as well Zebra plants and Boston Ferns. The 10” baskets are $25 each and are guaranteed by the greenhouse to have plants that are a minimum of 20” – 24” across.

The fundraiser is one of the biggest for the club and supports a wide array of projects across Fulton and beyond. Projects taken on by the club in 2025 included: purchasing dictionaries for Fulton elementary school students, annual scholarships, toy donations to children at Golisano Hospital for the holidays, a diaper drive for the Oswego County Diaper Bank, ongoing support of a preschool in Tanzania with a sister club in Fulton MO, and many, many more.

Each purchase directly funds impactful projects like these that are primarily focused on improving life in the City of Fulton. Rotarians also regularly volunteer their time to make the most difference possible. Service projects routinely taken up by the club include volunteering at free meal programs across Fulton and caring for the tree nursery at North Bay Campgrounds with the Fulton Garden Club.

Together, Rotarians see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. So, the Fulton Noon Rotary asks you to make a small change by purchasing your hanging baskets from a Rotarian instead of a big box store, and discover how big of a change we can all create together.

You can place an order by messaging the club on Facebook or by calling Rotarian Charrise Kidd at 315-887-0946. You may also email Rotarian Bekkah Frisch at [email protected] with the subject line "Hanging Baskets".

Fulton Noon Rotary meets at 12:00pm on the first three Thursdays of the month at the Tavern on the Lock in Fulton.
