The State University of New York Athletic Conference has announced its 2013 Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams which include five members of the Oswego squad.
Sophomore Bailey Waterbury and junior Georgia Traynor each earned First Team honors, transfer junior Tia Segretto was placed on Second Team while senior Nikki Liadka and junior Bri Dolan nabbed Third Team accolades. Also being earned for the Lakers is head coach Brian McGrane, who earned Coach of the Year in his seventh season at the helm.
Waterbury led the conference in assists per game (.412) while tying for the lead in total assists (7). The sophomore also added a goal on the season, finishing the campaign with nine points. Traynor, a captain for the Lakers, anchored the defense while also adding a goal and four assists on the season.
Segretto finished second in points per game (1.24) in the SUNYAC while also ending the year in a tie for second in total points (21). The junior finished with nine goals and three assists, with four of her goals being game-winners. For her efforts, Segretto was named SUNYAC Offensive Player of the Week twice in 2013.
On the Third Team were captains Dolan and Liadka, who combined for 30 points. Liadka was fourth in the league for points with 20, coming all on goals. Her 10 goals tied for second in the conference while she led the SUNYAC in goals per game (.588). Two of Liadka's goals were of the game-winning variety. Liadka's All-Conference honor is the fourth of her career, earning Third Team as a freshman and senior while being named Second Team in her sophomore and junior seasons.
Dolan was very consistent in how she accumulated points; finishing with 10 off three goals and four assists. It is the second-straight season season that Dolan has been recognized as an All-Conference competitor.
McGrane earns Coach of the Year for the first time in his career after leading the Lakers to the postseason for the first time since 2002. Oswego grabbed the No. 5 seed in the SUNYAC Championship with a 5-4 conference mark, securing 15 points in league play under McGrane's tutelage. In his career, McGrane holds a 53-65-5 overall record while posting a 19-43-4 record in SUNYAC play.
