Five Named to All-SUNYAC from Women's Soccer

OS Soccer

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its women's soccer All-Conference Teams, with five members of the Oswego State squad earning the honors.

Senior classmates Georgia Traynor and Bri Dolan received First Team recognition on their way to helping Oswego to a 6-7-3 record. Traynor finished with three points on the year off of a goal and two assists. The midfielder took the majority of Oswego's corner kicks during the campaign, including one that curved into the net for the game-winning goal against Potsdam on Oct. 3. It is Traynor's second-straight season on the All-SUNYAC First Team.

Dolan earns her third All-Conference honors in her career, including her second on the First Team after receiving the nod as a sophomore while playing midfield. The defender anchored a solid back all season while also contributing a goal and an assist as a starter in all 16 of the Lakers' contests.

Fellow senior Tia Segretto and freshman midfielder Emma Geyer were consistent threats for the Lakers, earning Second Team honors. Segretto led the Lakers offensive front with 58 shots and five goals on the season, both team-highs. It is Segretto's second-straight year on the Second Team, finishing this season with a team-high 15 points (five goals, five assists).

Geyer had an impressive 2014 campaign, as she helped the Lakers topple Rutgers-Camden on Aug. 31 and Clarkson University on Sept. 19 with game-winning goals. She finished the year in a tie for second on the team in both points (9) and goals (4).

Sophomore Mary Morrison was tabbed for Third Team honors due to her defensive prowess. Morrison helped anchor a defense that held opponents to under 12 shots a game and less than 50 shots than the Lakers on the season.
