The Oswego State wrestling team dropped each of its duals on the final day of the Budd Whitehill Division III Duals, hosted by Lycoming College on Saturday. With the pair of losses, the Lakers are now 2-6 in duals on the year.
Oswego opened with a 36-12 loss at the hands of Wesleyan University. Joe Gorsuch was the highlight of the match for the squad, earning a pin at 6:53 over Dominic Pirraglia in the 197-weight class.
In the second match, the Lakers faced a nationally-ranked team for the second-straight day, losing 40-3 to No. 28 United State Coast Guard Adademy, a day after dropping a bout to No. 30 TCNJ. Tyler Silverthorn earned the soul Oswego victory at 157, fighting for a 10-7 decision over Steve Kidwell.
Gorsuch had another good outing at 197, but was unable to upend his opponent, falling by a close 7-4 count. Also battling tough was 125-pound Jacob Yankloski, eventually succumbing 9-5 to Dominick Summers.
Oswego will be back on the mats at 10 a.m. on Saturday for the ECWC Championships, hosted by Oneonta.
