The Oswego State golf team hosted the first day of its 20th iteration of its fall invitational on Saturday afternoon at the squad's home course – Oswego Country Club. After one round, Oswego "A" is in first place by eight strokes while Oswego "B" is in third, just four back of the second place roster.
Oswego "A" shot a plus-29 313 on Saturday behind Sean Paul Owen's 74. The junior's round was the best out of the field, as Owen has sole possession of first place heading into Sunday. Nick Gramuglia is just four strokes back of his teammate, scoring a plus-7, 78 for the day's third best 18 holes. Just a stroke back of Gramuglia is fellow junior Corey Marshall, who has a share of fourth place with a 79.
Marshall is tied with two teammates playing with Oswego "B", Kyle McCloskey and Zach HIris. Following the duo for the third-best score for Oswego "B" was Jackson Mordaunt with an 82. Also shooting an 82 was Stu Winn, who rounded out the scoring for Oswego "A". Closing out the scorers for Oswego "B" was Daniel Mort with an 85.
Oswego "A" looks to expand its lead en route to a tournament win on Sunday while Oswego "B" will try to jump St. Lawrence University and track down their teammates for first. Tee times are slated for 11:30 a.m.
