The Oswego State golf team hosted the final day of its fall invitational on Sunday afternoon at the Oswego Country Club. Oswego "B" erased a 12-stroke deficit and jumped two teams in order to claim the tournament championship. In the runner-up position was Oswego "A" – who held the lead after the first round – just two back of their teammates.
On the individual leaderboard, Sean Paul Owen was the medalist as the weekend's best golfer by five strokes. The junior was consistent, following his Saturday 74 with the same 18-hole showing on Sunday.
Sunday's story was Oswego "B", having its top-four scorers all shoot in the 70s. Kyle McCloskey matched Owen with a 74 on day two, for a two-round total of 153, good for sole possession of second place. Just one-stroke back was Jackson Mordaunt, shaving seven strokes off his Saturday tally. Christian Gramuglia eliminated the most strokes off his first-round total for Oswego "B", shooting 13 strokes less on Sunday for a 77. The final scorer for the winning squad was Daniel Mort, posting a 79 on Sunday for a final score of 164 over the two days.
Joining Owen in the effort for Oswego "A" was Corey Marshall, staying in the 70s with a 76 to follow-up a round-one 79 for a total of 155 and a third-place finish.
Oswego now rests for the winter before returning to the course in the spring at the Keuka Invitational on April 11.
