The Oswego State men`s and women`s track and field teams showed well at the Hamilton College Continental Invitational on Saturday. Several athletes won events setting career- and even school records along the way.
Andy Baldwin hit the ECAC standard by winning the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:07.41. Junior Matthew Wagenhauser (1:59.83) took first in the 800-meter run, beating his next closest competitor by a full second.
Baldwin and Wagenhauser then teamed with Damian Archie and Nick Reinsdorf in the 4x400-meter relay, finishing in 3:29.73 for the victory.
In the field for the men, Chris Bridgewater set a career-best mark in the long jump, leaping 6.56 meters, .20 better than any of his opponents.
On the women's side, Katie Bott shined in the 800, qualifying for ECACs with a time of 2:20.69, taking first in the effort. Marissa Pariseau also qualified for ECACs by setting a new school-record with a time of 1:20.94 in the 500.
Abigail Boyce reached finals for the triple jump, posting a finals jump of 10.18 meters, good for fifth place. Also reaching finals for the women was freshman Ashalee Joseph (8.64), placing in the top 10 of the 60-meter dash.
Oswego will be back in action at 11 a.m. on Saturday when it travels to Ithaca, N.Y. for the Cornell Invitational.
