Write a commentFor the months of July and August, the Harper Gray Pediatric Therapy Center is hosting small group classes aimed at helping children ages 3-6 with speech and language enrichment as well as fine motor and sensory play.
Morning sessions are available on Tuesdays from 9:30am to 10:40am, while afternoon sessions will take place on Wednesdays from 4:30pm to 5:40pm.
Each 70-minute session is led by experienced Speech-Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists, with weekly themes to keep learning exciting and fresh. Some of the planned themes include nature explorers and leaf mosaics (week 1, July 7-8), dino dig sensory lab (week 3, July 21-22), and farmers market mini produce stand (week 7, August 18-19).
This is not a drop-off program; family involvement is an important part of the program and participation by a parent or caregiver is required.
The center is located at 314 Park Street in Fulton, formerly the site of the Arc of Oswego County Seniors Program. Established in 2025, the Harper Gray Pediatric Therapy Center was “intentionally designed as a collaborative pediatric resource center rather than a traditional therapy practice,” a representative from the center told iHeart Oswego. “Our model brings together independent pediatric providers in a shared setting that promotes communication, continuity of care, and convenience for the families they serve.”
Although the center itself is relatively new, it has been in the making for over six years. Founder Richard Wahlberger envisioned a more coordinated approach to pediatric care that emphasizes collaboration across essential pediatric service providers and better supports both families and independent healthcare professionals.
Harper Gray Pediatric Therapy Center hosts independent speech-language pathology and occupational therapy providers, with plans to continue expanding the range of pediatric and family-focused services available.
The summer program focuses on supporting childhood development with speech, language, fine motor, and sensory skill-building using the themes to sustain children’s interest. The supportive, small-group setting is designed to encourage children to play, explore, and thrive.
Executive Director Lauren Wahlberger told iHeart Oswego, “We are excited to offer this opportunity to local families… The program[m] is designed to provide children with engaging opportunities to support communication, sensory exploration, social interaction, and skill development through themed summer activities.”
Limited slots are available. Registration is $32 per session and can be completed on the center’s website here. Families can register for individual sessions without committing to the entire summer for flexibility.
According to its website, The Harper Gray Pediatric Center is dedicated to creating a welcoming, child-centered environment where children and families can access resources, support, and opportunities for growth. Wahlberger, who is a real estate developer, decided to create the center after navigating the therapy journey with his own family and seeing firsthand the many challenges that families in the area face.
