The Oswego women's cross country battled tough in an eighth place finish at the 6K SUNYAC Championship event on Saturday afternoon in Brockport.
Junior Sarah Popovitch led by example with her 39th place finish and a time of 24:38.9. Soon to follow was junior teammate Karlee Duffer at 25:07.4, good for 44th place overall.
Other notable performances for Oswego include Sammy Bielli, Morgan Bronner, and Katie Laris placing in 45rd, 47th, and 48th, respectively.
The Lakers had five runners place within the top 50 at the SUNYAC event with an average time of 25:06.5.
Oswego will return to action for the NCAA Atlantic Regional event at Rochester on Nov. 15. Races will begin at 12 p.m.
