St. Luke Charity Golf Tournament Set for August

St. Luke Charity Golf Tournament Set for August

The 17th edition of the St. Luke-Francis Boyce Memorial Charity Golf Tournament promises to be another fun-filled day of golf and socializing as the event “tees off” on Aug. 9 at Battle Island Golf Course, with an 8:00 a.m. “shot gun” start.

The four-person “Captain & Crew” tournament attracts both serious and novice golf teams alike– with prizes awarded in both categories.

The tournament entry fee is $80.00 per person. The field will be limited to the first twenty-five teams to register. The entry fee includes greens fees, cart, and on-course games, with lunch and awards immediately following at the Battle Island Club House Café.

Proceeds from the event benefit those served by the St. Luke Family of Caring; affiliated not-for-profit organizations St. Luke Health Services, Bishop’s Commons and St. Francis Commons in Oswego, and Michaud Residential Health Services in Fulton.

“Since its inception, our charity golf event has raised well over a hundred thousand dollars, enabling our not-for-profit affiliates to provide unique opportunities for those in our care at all four of our locations here in Oswego County,” Greg Osetek, director of community relations at St. Luke and one of the tournament’s organizers.

Proceeds from the annual charity golf tournament provide financial resources in support of the“Don’t Stop Wishing” program. The organization-wide initiative at all four affiliates helps enhance the quality of life enjoyed by residents and maintains connections with the community by sponsoring trips, activities and events throughout the year.

Sponsors of the 17th Annual Boyce Memorial Charity Golf Tournament include The Bonadio Group; Environmental Services Specialist Corp; Fulton Savings Bank; Harbor Pharmacy; The Hayner-Hoyt Corporation; IV4, Inc.; Menter, Rudin & Trivelpiece P.C; Rehab Resources; Schopfer Architects LLP; Sodexo and Usherwood Office Technology.

A $20,000 Hole-In One Contest sponsored by The House Works, and putting contest courtesy of Harbor Pharmacy are some of the popular “on-course” games taking place at the event. An optional “skins” game is also a part of the competition.

The charity golf tournament honors the late Francis Boyce, first Administrator of St. Luke Health Services and past President of the Board of Directors. An avid golfer, Mr. Boyce helped shape the St. Luke organization during his thirty-five year tenure with the not-for-profit healthcare provider.

For more information about the event, to register to golf or for sponsorship opportunities, please contact St. Luke Health Services at 342-3166, or visit the St. Luke website page atwww.stlukehs.com, look under the “Giving” tab.
