Numerous Lakers Break Records Against Redhawks

The Oswego State men's and women's swimming and diving teams each came away with wins against Roberts Wesleyan College on Saturday afternoon, with numerous swimmers from both teams setting records at Voller Athletic Center (in its first season). With a commanding 189-27 win, the men stay undefeated at 9-0, while the women improve to 7-2 on the season with their 154-67 victory.

Oswego took first in all four of its relays, with the men setting records in both of theirs. With a first place tie at 1:45.97, two of Oswego's relay teams set a new pool record in the 200-yard medley. Dennis Lelic, Austin Bull, Walker Snowden and Steven Cooley made up one record-setting team, while Luis Perez, Josh Mastrantuono, Alex Kemper and Nate McBurney made up the other.

The men ended the evening with two more record-breaking relay performances. JJ Alaniz, McBurney, Cooley and Sam Carwile set a new record of 3:27.14 in the 400-yard free relay, while Joseph Weinhofer, Perez, Lelic and Kemper also broke the previous pool record of 3:49.21 with a time of 3:27.14.

Throughout the night, many Lakers shattered Voller Athletic Center marks in the individual events. For the women, Lok Chi Hon, Jill Leahy, Aran Kilcoyne, Laura Gostomski, Kayla Merrill, Riley Synan, Kelsey Oliverio and Jalen Buckhout all topped previous pool records. Synan took first in all three of her individual events, setting records in each of them. On the men's side, McBurney, Perez, Bull, Mastrantuono, Alaniz, Snowden and Weinhofer broke facility records as well.

The Lakers finish up their regular season on Saturday as they host Potsdam at 2 p.m.
