The Oswego State women's swimming and diving beat Clarkson University in convincing fashion, 144.5-91.5, on the road Saturday afternoon. Oswego's victory extended its meet win streak to three and improved its record to 3-1 overall.
Riley Synan paced the Lakers with two individual victories during the meet. The freshman captured the 200-yard IM first in a time of 2:41.27 before claiming the top spot in the 100-yard butterfly by nearly three seconds (1:09.33).
Emily Burton, Hannah Jensen, Stephanie Noga and Megan Kowalski each earned one win on the swimming side of the event. The sophomore Burton gave Oswego its initial win on the day in the third event, the 800-yard free, in a time of 10:43.74. In the seventh event, Jensen nipped Clarkson's Kristin Schubert by .19 for the victory in the 50-yard free (29.20). After the pair of Synan wins, Noga secured the 400-yard free in 5:13.70, an event in which the top three spots went to Oswego swimmers. Burton and Maya Kaplan took second and third, respectively.
For the last individual event in the pool, Kowalski nabbed the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:23.67. For the 200-yard free relay, Burton and Noga teamed with Emily Doe and Natalie Brophy to touch the wall in 2:03.27, over two second faster than the next squad.
On the diving boards, freshman Kelly Lindner won both the 1- and 3-meter events. Lindner won the 1-meter by just .95 points, totaling 155.20. She garnered a more comfortable margin on the 3-meter board, scoring 161.10, 54 points more than her counterpart.
The Lakers will look to defend their winning streak at 6 p.m. on Friday when they travel to Alfred State to compete with the Pioneers.
