The Oswego State men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in the first meet of the year against Rochester Institute of Technology on Wednesday night, Oct. 23, 2013, at Laker Pool.
RIT took the win on both sides, with the 134.5-108.5 final on the men's side and the 154-74 on the women's.
In the men's competitions, Oswego won the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:30.45, earning 11 points. Anchoring that team was Andrew Minnick, Zach Gerber, Austin Nau and Chris Tutone.
Individually, Logo Killian won the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 56.82, grabbing nine points for the Lakers. Pasha Rusakov (49.65) beat his next closest competitor by 0.82 to take the top spot in the 100 Yard Freestyle Nau and Rusakov took the top two spots, respectively, in the 50 Yard Freestyle.
Minnick also got a win, taking the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:50.27.
On the women's side, Allyson Stewart, Shannon Casey, Meghan Olson and Emily Karszes won the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay to take 11 points for Oswego with a time of 2:00.17.
Katie Flood won the 100 Yard Breastroke, finishing the spread in 1:12.76.
Oswego will be back to action at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, when it hosts Oneonta.
