The Oswego Fire Department is now accepting registrations for two upcoming Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training opportunities this fall.

Instructed by experienced Oswego Firefighters, these courses provide students with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to begin or continue a career in Emergency Medical Services.

Whether you're interested in becoming an EMT, pursuing a career in firefighting or healthcare, or simply want to develop lifesaving skills to better serve your community, these courses offer an excellent opportunity to receive professional EMS training.

Two course options are available:

EMT Original & EMT Refresher

• Course Start Date: August 25, 2026

• Location: SUNY Oswego – Park Hall

EMT Original & EMT Refresher

• Course Start Date: September 2, 2026

• Location: Oswego Fire Department Headquarters

"Emergency Medical Technicians play a vital role in our community's emergency response system," said Oswego Fire Chief Paul Conzone. "These courses provide students with the training and confidence needed to respond when people need help most. Whether you're beginning a career in emergency services or renewing your certification, we encourage you to take advantage of this outstanding training opportunity."

Individuals interested in enrolling or obtaining additional course information should contact Deputy Chief Carl Emmons via email: [email protected] or phone: (315) 343-2161. Registration is now open. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged.
