Write a commentPULASKI, NY — The Salmon River Fine Arts Center invites the community to the opening reception of its 7th annual juried exhibition, “Hooked on the Salmon River,” on Friday, August 28th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The evening’s award ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 PM.
The themed exhibit features 69 selected artworks from 26 regional artists, all drawing inspiration from the historic Village of Pulaski’s swift-fl owing river, wetlands, and tributaries. The show runs from August 27th through October 10th at the arts center, located at 4848 N. Jefferson St. in Pulaski, strategically aligning with the peak of the local fi shing and tourism season.
“I’m excited about the exhibition this year,” says Tom Lambert, this year’s show coordinator. “The diverse talent in the area is truly incredible, and I can’t wait for the public to view the work.”
Claire (Ellsworth) Ames—an award-winning North Country artist and Watertown-based educator—served as this year's juror. Awards are based on originality, craftsmanship, and thematic adherence. Cash prizes will be distributed across several categories, highlighted by a $300 Best of Show award funded by corporate sponsor Douglaston Salmon Run.
"Hooked on the Salmon River" is made possible through the generous support of sponsors Douglaston Salmon Run and Fulton Boiler Works of Pulaski, whose ongoing commitment strengthens the local arts community.
The Salmon River Fine Arts Center is a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) non-profi t organization dedicated to educating and enriching the community through accessible art programs, hands-on workshops, and diverse exhibitions. The center also features a member gallery and consignment gift shop where visitors can purchase local art and handmade items, including pottery, glasswork, jewelry, paintings, notecards, and more.
