On Thursday, September 17th, Haunted Hearts, a brand new play by Juliet & Keith Giglio, local playwrights and Hollywood writer/producers, will premiere at the Art Scene @CNY Arts Center in Fulton and run for three additional performances on September 18, 19 and 20. This is the couple's second play to premiere at the theater.
"Unlike many shows staged in the Halloween season, this play is not scary. I would put this at a PG rating," said the director, Glen Merrill. Juliet agrees, "It's hilarity and heart and a lot of fun."
Haunted Hearts is a rom-com, a genre the husband-wife playwriting team know well, having written four Christmas movies and numerous other comedies for Hollywood studios. Love is all around the show as the director and stage manager (Nicole Merrill) are also married. "I'm absolutely having a ball working with my husband. We met thirty years ago in the theatre and this is kind of taking us back to our original early days," said Nicole Merrill. "It's been so much fun to direct the first production of this play. The actors have been absolutely incredible," said Glen.
"In a story about mood rings, possession and disco, Keith believes that "When it comes down to it, when we fall in love, we're all a little possessed."
"This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by CNY Arts."
Performance dates include September 17, 18, 19 at 7 pm and September 20th @3 pm.
