
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced the field hockey All-Conference Teams for the 2014 season. Oswego's freshman goalie Sarita Charap has been named to the First Team as well as the SUNYAC's Rookie of the Year while senior captain Courtney Collins garnered with Second Team honors.
Charap has racked up a plethora of accolades in her first season, including three SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week awards, an ECAC Defensive Player of the Week honor and a ECAC Rookie of the Week accolade. Charap has made moves on the national level, as well. The goalkeeper is 13th in the country in save percentage (.825%) and 29th in the country in saves per game (8.43). Charap closes her season with 118 total saves, a 2.00 goals-against average and three shutouts.
Collins finishes her intercollegiate athletics career with her second All-SUNYAC honors. The midfielder was a leader both on-and-off the field during her career, totaling 52 starts in a Laker uniform in 59 appearances. Over the past four years, Collins has scored four goals and distributed seven assists. As a sophomore, the Fairport native earned Second Team recognition after a five point season on four assists and a goal.
