OS Track and Field

The Oswego State men's track and field team had three members of its team hit ECAC qualifying marks on Saturday afternoon at the Rochester Institute of Technology Invitational. Oswego was able to capture eighth place out of 14 teams with the help of several members of the squad.

Senior jumper Chris Bridgewater kicked things off for the Lakers, winning the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 13.56 meters (44'6"). Senior Matt Wagenhauser took the win in the 500 with a strong early season time of 1:06.91.

Other point scorers for the team included Adam Crumb, who set a new lifetime best of 6.64 meters (21'9.5") in the long jump, taking second place and qualifying for ECACs. Senior captain Nick Montesano shaved 14 seconds off his career best in the 3,000-meter run, taking home fourth place in a time of 8:59.88.

Rounding out scoring for the men were Ben Griffin, who took 5th place in the 1,000 with a time of 2:37.89, and Brandon Comden, who placed seventh in the 200 with a time of 23.53.

The men will resume workouts on Monday in preparation for next Saturday's trip to Houghton for the Highlander Invitational.
