The Oswego State wrestling team placed sixth out of 15 teams at the 33rd John Summa Memorial Tournament - hosted by Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday.
Five Lakers placed in the top eight on the day, led by a runner-up showing from senior Troy Seymour.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Seymour won his three bout at 174 pounds rather easily to advance to the finals. He started with an 11-2 major decision over Wabash College's Carlos Lopez. Seymour followed it with a 7-0 shutout of Brockport's Casey Provost. He added another major (9-1) against Waynesburg University's Anthony Welsh. In the final, Seymour's 7-0 loss came at the hands of Division II Wheeling Jesuit's Connor Craig, the No. 5-ranked wrestler at that level.
- The next highest-placed Laker was Christian Gramuglia, taking third at 157. Gramuglia edged out a 7-6 decision over the bracket's top seed, Jared Timberman from Wabash. The sophomore then pinned Wheeling's Cale McCurdy in 2:36 before falling to the eventual champion in the semis. In the third-place bout, Gramuglia scored at will for 14-9 victory over his Waynesburg counterpart.
- At 184 pounds, Jeff Lombardi claimed a fifth-place showing after losing in the opening round to his Division II opponent, who went on to win the weight class. The senior ripped through the consolation bracket, recording three falls and a 12-0 major decision.
- Earning a sixth place finish was Isaac Mathews at 165 pounds. Mathews went 3-2 on the afternoon, winning by decision (7-2), major decision (10-2) and sudden victory (6-4).
- Rounding out Lakers in the top eight was Bryan Coll in seventh at 141 pounds. The senior started with 24 straight points without surrendering one to his opponents for a 6-0 decision and a 16-0 technical fall. After a loss, Coll went 2-1 in the consolation bracket, including a 15-5 major decision.

The Lakers will host Oneonta at 7 p.m. on Wednesday for its final home dual of the campaign.
