The Oswego State men`s golf team completed the two-day Mike Bello Invitational hosted by Le Moyne College. Oswego State shot a 335 after the first round and 321 after the second round for a two-round total of 656. The 656 gave the Lakers a ninth place finish out of 14 teams in the tournament.
Invitational host and NCAA Division II Le Moyne College came away with the win, shooting 305 in the first round and 299 in the second. The team combined total of 604 (+28) put them just ahead of fellow Division II member Roberts Wesleyan by three strokes.
On the individual side, sophomores Tyler Wurzer and Dan North tied for 32nd place out of 75 golfers. North eliminated six strokes from his first round score to finish with a 78 on Monday afternoon. Wurzer shaved two strokes on his second round to finish the day shooting 80. Both men shot 162 (+18) over the two-day event.
Senior John Mackie finished one stroke behind his teammates for a final score of 163 (+19). This score was good enough for 37th place.
Kyle Brockmann and Kyle Gaillard also tied, each shooting a 174 (+30).
The Lakers will travel Penn Yan, N.Y. to participate in the Keuka College Spring Invitational on Thursday. The invitational will begin at 11 a.m. at the Lakeside Country Club.
