The Oswego State women's soccer team dropped a tight contest at University of Rochester on Wednesday evening.
Oswego's defense and goaltending kept the tilt close with the Yellowjackets, who are ranked 23rd nationally in the latest United Soccer Coaches' poll.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Goalie Emma Allen made nine saves on 10 chances in 90 minutes of action.
- The junior's nine saves is the most she has had in a game that ended in regulation this season.
- That total is just five short of her career-high, which she has achieved twice, including the 0-0 double-overtime tie against St. Lawrence University in the Lakers' previous game.
- Oswego was able to record five shots in the game, led by Mackenzie Schaffner's two.
- Lynsey Roth, Audrey Burbidge and Gab Garcea each had a shot apiece.
- Roth and Burbidge's attempts were both on-goal.

The Lakers will host Cortland at 1 p.m. on Saturday to start the SUNYAC portion of the campaign.
