
The Oswego State women's swimming and diving team picked up its second-straight win with an 80-35 triumph over host Wells College on Saturday afternoon. Oswego completed the task by taking nine out of a possible 14 events at the meet.
Hannah Jensen, Riley Synan, Megan Kowalski and Emily Doe set the tone for the day with a seven-second win in the opening event, the 200-yard medley relay. The quartet combined for a time of 2:01.5.
Maya Kaplan kept continued the string of first-place finishes, winning the 1000-yard freestyle in 12:41.5. In the 200-yard free, Jensen earned the squad nine points with her 2:10.8 first-place time.
Five events later, Kaplan was at it again, this time recording a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke. She touched the wall in 1:18.6, which was also good for five points towards the team score. Synan added to the Laker win total in the 200-yard butterfly, capturing the top spot with a time of 2:20.2.
In the next women's event, Aran Kilcoyne beat the next closest opponent by two seconds in the 50-yard free. Kaplan made it a hat-trick with her third win of the day in the 200-yard breaststroke, taking a 13-second victory (2:54.72). Synan would not be done, collecting her third win of the day as well, claiming first in the 500-yard free by almost a five second window.
Rounding out the Oswego winners on Saturday was Abigal Mullet, nabbing first in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:07.93.
The Lakers will now take the week to prepare for a 1 p.m. tilt at Clarkson University next Saturday.
