The Oswego State men's and women's swimming and diving teams both took home victories at Wells on Saturday afternoon. With a 59-29 win, the men remain undefeated with three wins this season, while the women improve to 2-1 with a 65-25 victory. Neither team surrendered a first place finish in a single event against Wells.
Sophomore Ryan Kreuser notched first place finishes in all three individual events that he participated in. First, Kreuser won the 1000-yard free with a time of 11:48.43. Then, the Newark native took first in the 50-yard free with a time of 22.97. Kreuser finished the day with a time of 53.06 in the 100-yard free. Freshmen Luis Perez and JJ Alaniz, and the reigning Oswego State Athlete of the Week Daniel Rodriguez each placed first in two individual events.
The women's team, coming off of a 128-115 win over Oneonta, were dominant as well. Ten different swimmers finished first in their individual events against Wells. In relay action, the Oswego's teams took the top three slots in both the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard free relay. The combination of Kayla Merrill, Merima Kulosman, Kelsey Oliverio, and Riley Synan started the afternoon on the right note for the Lakers, getting the win in the first event of the day.
Oswego returns to the pool at 1 p.m. on Saturday when it faces Clarkson on the road.
