Chief Curtis will retire after more than 24 years of dedicated service to the department and the citizens of Fulton.
Chief Curtis began his career with the Fulton Police Department on July 16, 2001, and quickly established himself as a committed and capable officer. In September 2007, he was promoted to the rank of Investigator, where he served with distinction in complex criminal investigations. In January 2020, he was promoted to Deputy Chief, demonstrating strong leadership and vision during a period of significant organizational development. On August 1, 2022, he was appointed Chief of Police, becoming the department's top-ranking officer and continuing to lead with integrity, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to community safety.
Throughout his tenure, Chief Curtis has been instrumental in modernizing the department, strengthening inter-agency partnerships, and building public trust through transparency and community engagement. Under his leadership, the department launched major initiatives in public safety technology, training, school resource programs, and emergency preparedness.
“It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve the City of Fulton and to lead the outstanding men and women of the Fulton Police Department,” said Chief Curtis. “I am proud of all we have accomplished together and grateful for the support of the community, city leadership, and my fellow officers. While I am stepping away from my role, I will always remain invested in the safety and success of this city.”
