The Oswego State wrestling team fell 41-6 at Oneonta on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Lakers drop to 2-8 on the year while the Red Dragons improve to 7-7.
The Lakers lone victory today came at 184 lbs. when junior Scott Bova pinned Anthony Marino late in the first period.
The match began with an 8-4 decision at 125 lbs. for Oneonta freshman, Dominic DeGraba, over Kevin Ramkishun.
Sean Hanson followed at 133 lbs. with a 10-0 major decision against Quamaine Thomas.
Oneonta then recorded a major decision win at 141 lbs. by senior Ben Mikac before freshman Nicholas Heck won a hard fought, 4-2, decision at 149 lbs.
After a forfeit win at 157 lbs., sophomore Shaun Gillen was trailing in the third period before turning the tables and pinning, David Hall, with 13 seconds remaining in the match.
Senior Dan Graff then recorded a tech fall early in the third period over Christopher Farrell.
The final two wins for Oneonta came at 197 lbs. by Chad Obzud, who pinned Joe Gorsuch, and at 285 lbs. by Stephen Provenzano, who record a 12-3 major decision.
Oswego will have a week off before a 7 p.m. contest on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at Alfred State.
