The Oswego State golf team has earned the top two spots after one day of their 12th Annual Spring Invitational at the Oswego Country Club.
Oswego’s A squad ranks first out of seven teams with a score of 308, while the B team holds second place with a score of 310.
Individually, Laker golfers have captured four of the top five spots. Kyle McCloskey of Oswego B has outperformed 31 competitors with a score of 73 – just two over par – to claim first place so far. Just one stroke behind McCloskey is Corey Marshall and Erik Schleicher, both competing on Oswego A, who are tied for second. Sean Paul Owen rounds out the top five with a score of 77 to place fifth.
All the Laker golfers of both Oswego A and B rank in the top-20 after the first day, with all five members of Oswego B claiming spots in the top half.
Both Laker teams will look to continue their success tomorrow as they finish hosting their invitational. The teams tee off at 11 a.m.
