The Oswego State women's lacrosse team has been named a Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) for the 2017-18 academic year, while Teresa Shattuck has earned a spot on the IWLCA Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll.
With a GPA of 3.07, Oswego was one of 338 institutions in the NCAA and NAIA to earn the title of an Academic Honor Squad. In order to receive this distinction, a team must have a GPA of at least 3.00 during the academic year. The Lakers join Geneseo and Potsdam as the three SUNYAC schools to earn the award.
Shattuck – who was dominant on the field – excelled in the classroom as well. The finance major and athletic coaching minor is entering her senior year with a 3.56 GPA. One of 631 student-athletes named to the Academic Honor Roll, Shattuck and the honorees maintained a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 in order to qualify.
Shattuck and the Lakers return to the classroom this fall and hit the turf in the spring of 2019.
