The Oswego State volleyball team broke its six-game win streak Friday night, Sept. 27, with a 3-1 (26-24, 25-8, 25-16, 25-13) loss to Cortland in SUNYAC Pool Play. With the loss, Oswego falls to 11-7 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.
The Lakers stormed out to a 26-24 win in the first set but could not regain that momentum the rest of the way, dropping three-straight sets.
Emma Moriarty led all players with 14 kills along with four digs and a block assist. Also chipping in double digits kills was Megan Russell with 10.
Stephanie Bailey, the reigning Oswego Female Athlete of the Week and Oswego Fall Classic MVP, put forth a solid performance with six kills and three blocks.
The Lakers will return to action at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, when they continue SUNYAC play in Cortland with Oneonta followed by Potsdam at 12:30 p.m.
