Sophomores Tylea McCarthy-Walker and Sarah Yensan both set a new program best in the long jump at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships hosted by Ithaca College.
The duo each jumped 5.56 meters (18' 3") to finish in the top three and score points for the team. McCarthy-Walker's previous best of 5.47 meters, done earlier this season at the RIT Invitational, was the previous school record. Yensan's previous best was 5.43 meters and done at the Golden Eagle Invite back in mid-February of this season.
Carly Vreugde performed well in the 400 meter run in taking fifth with a time of 1:00.06. Her time was a season best and only one second off her personal best of 59.06 done last February at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
The women's team finished the event with 19 points and in 14th place out of the 24 teams that participated.
