The Oswego State volleyball team dropped to 2-6 on the season with two losses to close out the Northwest Pennsylvania Challenge on Saturday afternoon.
Oswego were unable to take a set on the day, falling 3-0 to Thiel College before a 3-0 loss to Allegheny College.
THIEL 3, OSWEGO 0 (13-25, 23-25, 23-25):
Five Lakers finished with three kills in the match: Laura Finn, Sarah Braddon, Shauna O'Flaherty, Alison Sullivanand Melissa Lussier. Oswego was led in the category by Lauren Fie's four winners. On the passing front, Oswego racked up 40 digs spread throughout its lineup. Braddon and O'Flaherty had a team-high nine digs each while Rina Qelah had seven and Julia Flohr counted six. Out of 10 players who appeared in the contest, seven finished with at least two digs.
Oswego's defense had three players record blocks at the net, paced by Braddon's three solos and one assist. Finn had two alone and help on another as did Sullivan.
Flohr (9) and Alison Berger (8) tallied 17 of the Lakers' 19 assists on the day.
ALLEGHENY 3, OSWEGO 0 (19-25, 21-25, 22-25):
On offense, Lussier had a match-high 11 kills followed by Braddon and Sullivan each with six. The duo of O'Flaherty and Finn finished with 10 kills combined, split evenly. Berger and Flohr again dominated assisting duties with 12 each.
Three Lakers finished with double figures in digs, led by Braddon's match-high 17. O'Flaherty dug 14 while Emily Costa chipped in 12.
Volleyball will play its first home contests in its next outing as it hosts the Oswego State Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Lakers will open at 5 p.m. on Friday with Hilbert College on the main court in Max Ziel Gymnasium.
